But, alas, the show is sticking to its decision to bypass the 28-year tradition of elaborate Halloween costumes that has proven so popular with viewers – if not so much the hosts. Last week, on the show’s Behind the Table podcast, producer Brian Teta revealed to co-host Joy Behar that they will not have a Halloween episode for the first time in 28 years. “This year, because it’s only a few days before the election and we need to be live, the hosts are not going to dress up for Halloween.” The elaborate costumes have always required pre-taping the special holiday episodes.
