‘The View’ Skips Halloween Costumes But Can’t Exorcise Trump’s Nightmarish Bedevilment
The View opened its Halloween episode with a video about the hosts' worst Trump-inspired nightmares.
No costumes, but The View didn’t ignore Halloween this year, opening the show with a pre-taped dream sketch in which each of the hosts, bored to tears at a morning staff meeting as producer Brian Teta drones on and on about his podcast, dozes off and has a Trump-inspired nightmare. For Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin, a shared nightmare had them running through the streets of Manhattan during a Purge-like event, as Trump’s voice speaks of the benefits of “one real, rough nasty day.” Finally, the cohosts come up with the concept of a plan for escape. Next up was Ana Navarro, lounging on a cruise ship reading Ricky Martin’s memoir when suddenly she’s forced to choose between sharks and electrocution, one of Trump’s weirder fantasy scenarios.
