“ The Thursday Murder Club,” an upcoming whodunnit with a cast led by Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie, will release on August 28 on Netflix. Based on Richard Osman’s 2020 novel of the same name, the story is set in a retirement community in England and follows four irrepressible retirees — ex-spy Elizabeth (Mirren), former union activist Ron (Brosnan), ex-psychiatrist Ibrahim (Kingsley) and retired nurse Joyce (Imrie) — who spend their time solving cold case murders for fun until an unexplained death occurs on their own doorstep, involving them in a real whodunit. The cast of “The Thursday Murder Club” also includes Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Tom Ellis, Jonathan Pryce, David Tennant, Paul Freeman, Geoff Bell, Ingrid Oliver and Richard E. Grant.
