‘The Teenage Psychic’ Director Chen Ho-yu Mines Cultural Identity in Vampire Comedy Project at Taiwan Creative Content Fest

'Don't Worry About Vampire,' a comedy that explores Taiwan's cultural identity, is being pitched at the Taiwan Creative Content Fest.

The film will follow a bumbling protagonist who saves a vampire princess and becomes an overnight sensation, only to watch his hometown transform into an unrecognizable place as human-vampire peace treaties reshape society. The director sees the project as a return to his creative roots after grappling with industry pressures following the success of “The Teenage Psychic.” “After years of contemplation, creating had become a tremendous burden,” Chen reveals. The creative team includes executive producer Lin Shih-ken (“Marry My Dead Body,” “The Bold, The Corrupt, And The Beautiful”), creative producer Isara Chen (“Dead Talents Society”), and producer-writer Liao Chen-kai, who served as head writer on “The Teenage Psychic.”
