‘The Studio’ Gets a Second Season Because ‘Hollywood Loves a Sequel’

Before Seth Rogegn's 'The Studio' has even wrapped its debut season, the Apple TV+ series has already been renewed for Season Two.

Rogen plays Matt, the head of Continental Studios, a bonafide movie nerd who has turned his passion into his career, putting him in morally hilarious situations throughout the series as he finds himself deciding between keeping his dream job or occasionally feeding the machine in his pursuit to great movie-making. Produced by Lionsgate Television, The Studio is created by multi-Emmy Award winners Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory, along with Rogen, Goldberg, and Frida Perez. In a Rolling Stone review, TV critic Alan Sepinwall hailed the debut series as “simultaneously vicious and affectionate,” declaring it “a show made by people who clearly love Hollywood, and who as a result understand exactly how to craft jokes about all the ways the town, and its business, are terrible.”
