‘The Sticky’ Heist Comedy Canceled By Prime Video After One Season

Prime Video has canceled The Sticky. The news comes more than two months after Season 1 of the comedy, starring Margo Martindale, was released Dec. 6.

Like another recently canceled Prime Video freshman comedy series, The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh, The Sticky could not break through and draw wide enough audience despite solid reviews (80% on Rotten Tomatoes). The Sticky, produced by Blumhouse Television, Curtis’ Comet Pictures, Jonathan Levine’s Megamix and Sphere Media, was inspired by a real-life heist that made global headlines in 2012, which saw more than $18 million worth of maple syrup stolen from Quebec’s national reserves. She teams up with the hot-tempered Bostonian mobster (Diamantopoulos), and a mild-mannered French-Canadian security guard (Cyr) to carry out a multi-million-dollar heist on Quebec’s maple syrup surplus.
