‘The Sound of Music’ Cast: Where Are They Now?

Legendary director Robert Wise ’s adaptation of a hit 1959 stage musical — which itself was based on the lives of the real von Trapp Family singers — cemented Julie Andrews as an international superstar and shined light on a moment of hope during a dark period in history. Andrews has continued to act in non-musical roles, most notably playing Queen Clarisse Marie Renaldi in the Princess Diaries movies and voicing Lady Whistledown in Netflix’s hit show Bridgerton. “Chris was an extraordinary man who deeply loved and respected his profession with great old fashion manners, self deprecating humor and the music of words,” Lou Pitt, his manager of 46 years, said in a statement to Us Weekly at the time.
