According to Edwards, laying the groundwork for Celbrimbor’s downfall in Season 1 helped him find depth and dimension to an infamous but scarcely-written character. For Daniel Weyman, who plays Gandalf/The Stranger, a major turning point in stepping into Gandalf’s iconic boots was finally saying his name aloud for the first time. “The showrunners were saying we had another scene to film in Tom Bombadil’s house before it was broken away, and I was aware that we had to jump a few episodes forward in time,” recalled Weyman.
