Last July, a casting call went out for a new show, “ The Pitt, ” which had a unique request: it was looking for background actors with open availability. Just being on set every day, seeing how all the incredible actors work together and meeting such lovely crew members, they were all just so welcoming to all the background people. I already have the most respect for nurses, but to be able to have to manage your emotions when dealing with patients that you’re not even related to, but you’ve formed these bonds with these people, and it felt real.
