‘The Penguin’: Colin Farrell Teases ‘Incredibly Violent’ Spin-Off Of ‘The Batman’

The Penguin may be much darker than fans first thought! Colin Farrell teased a deeply violent spin-off for The Batman universe coming to Max this fall.

While The Batman was the story about a man evolving into a symbol, it seems this spin-off will focus more heavily on the socio-political conflicts inherent to Gotham’s broken system. The show is set to follow the journey of Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot, attempting to take over the seedy underbelly of Gotham after the death of Carmine Falcone in The Batman. The Max series will also likely bring Colin Farrell’s version of the character closer to his comic counterpart: a well-connected villains with a finger in every pie in Gotham.
