‘The Northman’ star Ingvar Sigurdsson has replaced Joseph Mawle in upcoming Middle Ages drama ‘King & Conqueror.’
“Harold of Wessex and William of Normandy were two men destined to meet at the Battle of Hastings in 1066; two allies with no design on the British throne, who found themselves forced by circumstance and personal obsession into a war for possession of its crown,” reads the logline. The show, which has just wrapped in Iceland, also announced on Monday that it will feature “Interview With the Vampire” actor Elander Moore as cruel and devious aristocrat Morcar, “Industry’s” Indy Lewis as the sheltered Margaret, “My Lady Jane” actor Jason Forbes as the loyal Thane Thomas, “Royalteen’s” Ines Asserson as the eligible Judith and “Heartstone’s” Sveinn Ólafur Gunnarsson as fearsome warrior Hardrada. “King & Conqueror” is created by Michael Robert Johnson (“Sherlock Holmes”) with “Everest” director Baltasar Kormákur helming the premiere episode.
