The upcoming Season 7 finale of the hit CBS comedy series starring Cedric the Entertainer will serve as a planted spinoff headlined by Marcel Spears and Sheaun McKinney. It follows Marty (Marcel Spears) and Malcolm (Sheaun McKinney) Butler as they embark on new adventures, finally leaving their parents’ nest to start the next chapters of their lives, finding themselves the newcomers in a neighborhood that’s both close by yet worlds apart: Venice Beach. Three new characters will be introduced in the planted spinoff (Episode 720) as guest stars with options to become series regulars if CBS moves forward with the project for the 2025-26 season.
