Subject Matter will give a $25,000 grant during Sundance to "The Librarians" by Kim A. Snyder and another grant of the same amount to PEN America.

“Our film gives voice to the community of courageous librarians selflessly fighting to uphold our first amendment rights and the principles of their profession,” Snyder said in a statement. Snyder will participate in a Subject Matter-hosted panel discussion at Sundance, along with Maria Cuomo Cole, Carolyn Foote and Jonathan Friedman to talk about the documentary and the issue of book banning. Throughout Sundance, Subject Matter will increase people’s donations toward PEN America’s librarian initiative by $100, up to a total $5,000 contribution.
