'Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping' has tapped Kelvin Harrison Jr. for a role, Deadline has confirmed.
The story centers on 16-year-old Haymitch, a clever and resourceful boy from District 12, who’s unexpectedly chosen for this edition of the games, which will feature a deadly twist: twice the number of tributes, with 48 children sent into the arena to battle for their lives. Best known for titles like Elvis, Waves, and It Comes at Night, Harrison can currently be seen starring opposite Sadie Sink, Murray Bartlett, and Regina Hall in O’Dessa, Searchlight’s post-apocalyptic musical from Geremy Jasper released through Hulu. For the actor, who will soon be seen playing Jean-artist Michel Basquiat in Julius Onah’s Samo Lives, other recent credits include Mufasa: The Lion King, Genius: MLK/X, and Chevalier.
