‘The Girl From Plainville’ Co-Creator Liz Hannah Inks Overall Deal With Sony Pictures Television


Emmy-nominated writer-producer-director Liz Hannah is getting into business with Sony Pictures Television with a multi-year overall deal.

Hannah has signed a multi-year overall deal with the studio, under which she will create, develop, and produce scripted drama and comedy series for cable and streaming under her shingle Happy Friday Productions. Hannah recently served as executive producer, co-showrunner and director on Hulu’s The Girl From Plainville, receiving a Hollywood Critics Association award nomination for Best Directing for her episode titled “Talking is Healing.” The Critics Choice Award-winning series also was nominated for numerous awards, including the Emmy for Best Limited Series. “Liz is an exceptional storyteller and shares our vision of making characters the focal point of the stories we tell,” says Lauren Stein, Head of Creative for Sony Pictures Television.
