The payday was disclosed in a UK Companies House filing by Sony Pictures Television, which loaned Left Bank £10.1M to fund the financial incentive. Sony and Left Bank declined to comment on the reasons for the bonus and whether it was out of the ordinary, but it coincided with filming wrapping on The Crown’ s final season last April. In an interview with Deadline last year, Left Bank CEO Andy Harries reflected on the achievements of The Crown, describing it as the “Everest” of British television.
