‘The Color Purple’ to Release on Digital and 4K Blu-ray, With Hours of Special Features

Fantasia Barrino, who starred as Celie in the 2007 Broadway production of “The Color Purple,” reprises her role in the new Warner Bros. adaptation, produced by Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey. The ensemble cast include Danielle Brooks as Sofia (a role she played in a 2015 stage revival), Taraji P. Henson as Shug Avery, Colman Domingo as Mister, H.E.R. The film also has Oscars chances with its crafts, including for veteran costume designer Francine Jamison-Tanchuck and cinematographer Dan Laustsen.
