‘The Chosen’ Season 6 Finale & Season 7 Premiere To Be Released Theatrically As Standalone Films Via Amazon MGM Studios

Amazon MGM Studios and 5&2 Studios will release the Season 6 finale of 'The Chosen', as a feature film portraying the crucifixion of Jesus.

Additionally, Season 7 will kick off with a feature film depicting the resurrection of Jesus, exclusively in theaters on March 31, 2028. Set against the backdrop of Roman oppression in first-century Israel, The Chosen is a seven-season series that shares an authentic and intimate look at Jesus’ revolutionary life and teachings. The deal commences with Lionsgate’s 2026 theatrical releases and also includes the studio’s 2025 slate and a commitment for licensing library movies and TV.
