‘The Bodyguard’ Remake Coming From Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ Director Sam Wrench

Grammy-nominated and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Sam Wrench, best known for directing the 2023 concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, has been tapped to helm Warner Bros.’ reimagining of the iconic 1992 romantic thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A previous version of the screenplay was written by director and playwright Matthew López, with the project in various stages of development since 2011, THR reports. Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour became the highest-grossing concert film of all time, earning $179.2 million during its nine-week theatrical run after debuting in October 2023.
