‘The Batman’ Director Matt Reeves Teases Trilogy & Plans For Sequel

The Batman universe is only getting bigger! Director Matt Reeves speaks on the upcoming sequel, as well as if the franchise will end as a trilogy.

And with another spin-off series now confirmed to be in development, the director hasn’t been shy about his hopes for the film franchise, revealing that he always had plans to make the project a trilogy. Many fans believe that the trilogy being set up for The Batman universe is meant to serve as a crime and corruption saga for the Caped Crusader. Given The Penguin and the cancelled GCPD series both included those themes, and early rumors about the sequel confirm the same, the most popular theory is that director Matt Reeves is setting up the trilogy to culminate in a showdown against the Court of Owls.
