Is Superman taking inspiration from Justice League International? DC art Kevin Maguire clarifies his comments about his visit to the film’s set.

It seemed he had an amazing time during his visit back in May, recounting the trip he took with a number of iconic comic artists and writers during the film’s production, and commenting on what he saw as key inspirations for the project. Many fans took these comments from Kevin Maguire as confirmation that Justice League International would be a large influence on Superman and the new DC Universe, something that had previously only been talked about in the abstract. “My saying there was a JLI influence on SUPERMAN had nothing to do with anything I saw during the set visit but was based on common knowledge, the fact that Guy Gardner, Maxwell Lord and Booster Gold were part of the DCU’s opening wave.”
