‘Stranger Things’ Creators the Duffer Brothers to Receive Variety’s Showrunner Award at 2025 SCAD TVfest

The Duffer Brothers, creators of Netflix’s hit “ Stranger Things,” will receive the Variety Showrunner Award on the opening night of the 13th annual SCAD TVfest. They’ve made me care for Hopper and Joyce, root for Mike and Eleven, relate to Dustin and Lucas — and of course, fear the Demogorgon, the Mind Flayer, Vecna and, yes, the Soviets. Previous recipients of SCAD TVfest’s Variety Showrunner Award include Charlotte Stoudt (“The Morning Show”); Jen Statsky, Paul W. Downs, and Lucia Aniello (“Hacks”); and Sterlin Harjo (“Reservation Dogs”).
