May 4th annually marks “May the Fourth” in the Star Wars community, and on Saturday the space franchise celebrated the occasion with a new trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series The Acolyte. As previous previews have hinted, The Acolyte centers on a conspiracy to kill the Jedi in events that take place over a century before the saga’s Episode I: The Phantom Menace, making it chronologically the oldest project in Star Wars’ live-action universe. “In The Acolyte, an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg),” the synopsis states.
