‘Star Wars’ Darth Maul Animated Series Ordered By Disney+; Sam Witwer Returns To Voice Villain


Star Wars' iconic villain Darth Maul is returning to the screen with a new animated series at Disney+ - Maul: The Shadow Lord is set to debut in 2026.

Maul: Shadow Lord was announced Friday during Lucasfilm Animation’s panel at Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo with Sam Witwer, who has voiced the character in several iterations, returning to reprise the role. Attendees at the Star Wars Celebration panel got a glimpse of the new series in a clip which reportedly reveals Maul training a Twi’lek apprentice that appears to be the future Darth. His other credits include the role of Crashdown in Battlestar Galactica, Davis Bloome in Smallville, Aidan Waite in Being Human, Mr. Hyde in Once Upon a Time, Ben Lockwood in Supergirl, and Rupert Chipping in Riverdale.
