‘Star Trek’ Live-Action Comedy From Alex Kurtzman, Justin Simien & Tawny Newsome In Works At Paramount+
The first ever 'Star Trek' live-action comedy series from Alex Kurtzman, Justin Simien & Tawny Newsome is in development at Paramount+.
No title or format (single-camera of multi-camera) have been revealed for the comedy, in which Federation outsiders serving a gleaming resort planet find out their day-to-day exploits are being broadcast to the entire quadrant. Additional clues provided by Simien and Newsome include that the comedy will feature some 25th century shenanigans and odd couple pairings. While Star Trek has ventured into animation a number of times over the years, currently with Lower Decks and Prodigy, this would be the first live-action comedy in the franchise.
