‘Squid Game’ to End With Season 3, Post-Christmas Return Set at Netflix

The show's second season is scheduled to premiere on Dec. 26.

Netflix and Squid Game executive producer, writer and director Hwang Dong-hyuk also announced that a third, final season is set to premiere in 2025. “Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who vowed revenge at the end of season one, returns and joins the game again,” Hwang writes in a letter announcing the show’s endgame. “I am thrilled to see the seed that was planted in creating a new Squid Game grow and bear fruit through the end of this story,” Hwang’s letter concludes.
