‘Split Fiction’ Video Game Sells 2 Million Copies in First Week
Hazelight Studios' split-screen co-op adventure game has raced past 2 million copies sold.
Written by director and Hazelight studio chief Josef Fares and Sebastian Johansson, the game blends fantasy and science fiction, following a pair of authors trapped in the worlds they wrote. “Split Fiction’s” dual protagonists are named after Fares’ real-life daughters, and the game was designed for a split-screen, co-op experience where players work together — either locally or online. Dropping with a Friend’s Pass system that allows owners to invite a new player for free, “Split Fiction” sold over a million units within two days of release, published under Electronic Art’s EA Originals label.
