‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ Races to No. 1 at U.K., Ireland Box Office as ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ Holds Strong


Paramount’s 'Sonic the Hedgehog 3' raced to the top of the U.K. and Ireland box office with a $14.7 million opening weekend.

Bakrania Media’s Bollywood film “Baby John” opened with £112,834 in ninth place, while Sony’s “Kraven the Hunter” added £87,631 in its third week for a total of £1.4 million. Joining it is Studiocanal’s romantic drama “We Live In Time,” starring Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield, and Altitude Film Distribution’s sci-fi thriller “2073” from acclaimed filmmaker Asif Kapadia. Other midweek releases include the Tamil-language drama “Vanangaan” (DJ Tech LTD), which is the latest from Indian auteur Bala and Dreamz Entertainment’s sports biopic “Game Changer,” starring “RRR” leading man Ram Charan, directed by Shankar Shanmugam.
