SNL ‘s Weekend Update addressed the assassination attempt of Donald Trump in July, as well as the more recent indictments of New York City Mayor Eric Adams and rapper Sean Combs. Co-anchor Michael Che then turned to Adams’ indictment this week for bribery, wire fraud, conspiracy, and two counts of soliciting campaign contributions from foreign nationals. Jost then riffed on how Combs’ attorney sought to distinguish his actions from those of R. Kelly, who was convicted of racketeering and sex trafficking involving minors.
