‘SNL’ Tackles TikTok Trends and Trad Wives in Cameo-Filled Parody Sketch
The cast of ‘Saturday Night Live,’ as well as stars Billie Eilish and Maya Rudolph, popped up on a TikTok feed for a hilarious sketch on Saturday, October 19
The nearly four-minute sketch, aptly titled “ TikTok,” started off in a vertical iPhone view as someone texted their “BAE” that they’re “HEADED OUT NOW” before doomscrolling through their social media thread. Videos began flashing of everything from a cute cat dancing to Marcello Hernandez ’s viral “Espresso” cover to a fitness girlie (newcomer Ashley Padilla) pumping up her followers while trying to sell them products. Then there was a foodie, played by Kenan Thompson, offering up an honest review of Fruity Pebble-covered chicken in his car and — of course — a trad wife ( Heidi Gardner) meal-prepping for her family while very pregnant.
