‘SNL’ Sets Ramy Youssef as Host With Travis Scott as Musical Guest

Ramy Youssef will host the March 30 “Saturday Night Live” episode, with Travis Scott as the musical guest.

While the March 2 episode saw Sydney Sweeney in her hosting debut and musical guest Kacey Musgraves, the women followed Shane Gillis — the comedian who was fired from “SNL” in 2019 due to racist, homophobic, Islamophobic and misogynistic jokes he made on his podcast and other media. After these comments resurfaced on social media, a spokesperson on behalf of executive producer Lorne Michaels said at the time, “We want ‘SNL’ to have a variety of voices and points of view within the show, and we hired Shane on the strength of his talent as a comedian and his impressive audition for ‘SNL.’ We were not aware of his prior remarks that have surfaced over the past few days. Other hosts this season have included Dakota Johnson, Jacob Elordi, Emma Stone, Jason Momoa, Pete Davidson, Bad Bunny, Nate Bargatze and Timothee Chalamet, with musical guests Justin Timberlake, Renee Rapp, Ice Spice, the Foo Fighters and Boygenius.
