‘SNL’ Goes Live In New York As 50th Anniversary Celebration Begins

'Saturday Night Live' 50th anniversary festivities kicked off Friday with a stock-market bell ringing and a massive red carpet set up at Rockefeller Plaza.

Current and former 'Saturday Night Live' cast members, Chloe Fineman, Taran Killam, Jay Pharoah, Alex Moffat and Garrett Morris join Matt Strauss, Chairman, NBCUniversal Media Group, and Mark Marshall, Chairman, Global Advertising & Partnerships, NBCUniversal after ringing the Nasdaq opening bell Friday.Alexi J. A few blocks downtown, cast members past and present met show staffers and NBCUniversal execs to ring the opening bell at the NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square. One recent example (watch it HERE) used an electric Volkswagen van to reunite Fred Armisen, Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader in a reprise of the recurring soap opera spoof The Californians.
