'Star Wars' goes 'Goonies' in the first trailer for 'Skeleton Crew,' the franchise’s latest spinoff series coming to Disney+ in December.
In the preview, which debuted at Disney’s D23 expo Friday, a bunch of space kids leave the safe-but-boring confines of their intergalactic suburb after stumbling across a hidden Jedi temple, leading them on an adventure across the galaxy. “This second part of our story will follow Cassian over the period of four years as he grows into the rebel hero we see fulfill his destiny with the ultimate sacrifice in Rogue One,” star Diego Luna said at the expo, which featured a Season Two highlight reel that hasn’t been uploaded yet for public view. As the imperial threat grows and the lines have become more dangerous, Cassian is fueled by a sense of high purpose: to fight for freedom and a better tomorrow.”
