‘Shtisel’ Sells To Arte
'Shtisel', the Israeli hit drama starring Shira Haas and Michael Aloni, has sold to Arte in France & Germany.
The European network has taken all three seasons of the drama in a non-exclusive deal for its arte.tv VoD player, several months after picking up Israeli roommate comedy Bloody Murray. Created and written by Ori Elon and Yehonatan Indursky, the series became a global phenomenon when it first aired on Netflix, offering unique insights into Haredi society in a no-holds-barred manner that addresses numerous universal themes. Yes Studios MD Sharon Levi said: “With its endearing characters and fascinating look into everyday life in an ultra-orthodox community, Shtisel continues to prove a hit wherever it is shown.
