‘Shogun’ Star Cosmo Jarvis Joins Guy Ritchie’s ‘Wife & Dog’ (EXCLUSIVE)
Benedict Cumberbatch, Rosamund Pike and Anthony Hopkins will lead the film, taking Ritchie back into the backstabbing world of the British aristocracy
The Brit joins a heady lineup of names already confirmed for the feature, first announced by Variety last year and set to see Ritchie return to the colourful, backstabbing world of the British upper classes (doubling down on a subject he recently explored in “The Gentleman” film and TV series). After breaking out alongside Florence Pugh and Naomi Ackie in 2016’s indie hit “Lady Macbeth,” Jarvis earned acclaim as a criminal enforcer in Irish gangster thriller “Calm With Horses,” and later starred opposite Dakota Johnson in Netflix’s adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Persuasion.” In “Shōgun” Jarvis played the lead role of shipwrecked English sailor John Blackthorne, helping the limited series to a record 18 Emmy Awards and four Golden Globes.
