‘Shōgun’s Anna Sawai Pours Cold Water On Rumored Casting As Yoko Ono In Sam Mendes’ Beatles Movies – SAG Awards Backstage
Anna Sawai has dismissed the rumor that would have her playing Yoko Ono in Sam Mendes' upcoming set of Beatles movies.
In discussing her next professional steps, Sawai told Deadline, “I’m still trying to figure out what I want to do, so I’m reading a lot of scripts. Rumors of Sawai playing Lennon’s musicia wife Ono began circulating earlier this month. This marks the first time that The Beatles and Apple Corps Ltd. have authorized the use of the band members’ life stories and music in scripted films.
