‘Rick and Morty: The Anime’ Spinoff Series Debuts First Footage

First plot details and footage for the "Rick and Morty" anime spinoff from Adult Swim and Max has been released.

According to the teaser, the new anime-inspired show will debut with 10 episodes on Adult Swim and HBO Max “sometime this year.” Additional plot details, including a plotline for all the participating legacy characters, were also announced during Warner Bros. Discovery’s 2024 upfront. Absent from mention was the often ridiculed character Jerry Smith, so his absence could be entirely intentional but the new series creators. Takashi Sano is the spinoff director and previously helmbed the anime shorts “Rick and Morty vs. Genocider” and “Summer Meets God (Rick Meets Evil).”
