'Phantom Of The Opera' YA Movie Reimagination In Works At Disney+ From Kenny Ortega and Giovanni M. Porta.
The 1909 novel, set in the 1880s, tells the story of Erik, a mysterious, disfigured musical genius who lives beneath the Paris Opera House. Ortega is best known as a choreographer, director and producer behind projects like Dirty Dancing, Hocus Pocus, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Pretty in Pink. Deadline reported earlier this year Porta’s original feature spec script Queen B was set up at Netflix with Fuller Media producing, with whom he has other projects currently in development.
