Andra Day is joining the Season 2 cast of “ Percy Jackson and the Olympians ” as Athena. Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, is one of the most important Olympian characters in Rick Riordan’s “Percy Jackson” books, being the mother of Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries), Percy’s (Walker Scobell) close friend and fellow demigod. News of Day’s casting was announced during a virtual panel at Disney’s D23 Expo in Brazil before being posted to social media.
