‘Paradise’ Stars Sterling K. Brown and James Marsden on Cal and Xavier’s End-of-Days Origin Story: ‘The Man Did Everything He Could’
"Paradise" stars James Marsden and Sterling K. brown break down the story between Xavier and Cal in Episode 7.
Sterling K. Brown has been preparing “Paradise” co-star James Marsden for an Emmy nod for his performance on the Dan Fogelman-created drama since they began filming the penultimate episode of Season 1. The supportive banter between the co-stars came as they were filming the most intense episode of Hulu’s “Paradise” thus far, titled “The Day.” During the hour, Fogelman (who also created “This Is Us,” which starred Brown) takes viewers back to show them when and how the world essentially ended and only 25,000 people marked by Samantha “Sinatra” Redmond (Julianne Nicholson) and Dr. Gabriela Torabi (Sarah Shahi) for survival made it down to the bunker town, Paradise. What if my world got up ended, and I was left to raise my two kids on my own without my right arm there?” And it comes fairly easily, fortunately or unfortunately because we are asked to do the weirdest things as actors, to imagine these worst case scenarios and live them as fully as possible.
