‘Oppenheimer’ Best Picture Win Earns Imax CEO Rich Gelfond A Shoutout From Oscar Stage; Company Helped Propel Film’s Celluloid-Backed Run To Glory
Oscar-winning "Oppenheimer" producer Emma Thomas thanked Imax, a nod to the fact the company's auditoriums accounted for 20 percent of its box office.
Domestic receipts of $393.2 million were the highest in company history, besting even the 2019 Avengers: Endgame high water mark. Last week, he was asked about the outlook for 70mm and celluloid during an appearance at a conference hosted by Wall Street firm Morgan Stanley.
