“Starting in the indie world in New York, Rob was the first person that really made perfectionism OK and that really makes a huge difference to someone with OCD, such as myself, to find a comfortable place. That’s not to say their work is dependent solely on Eggers’ vision, but a detail-oriented director can definitely be helpful when it comes to creating something like a new version of Count Orlok. “[Orlok] was based on tradition and folklore illustrations from the mid 17 th century, which were brought forward by Robert,” says White.
