‘My daughter was given a 5% chance of survival after contracting meningitis - now she’s a gold medal Paralympian’

But despite having to learn how to speak again and taking an hour the first time she tried to climb the stairs, Ellie hasn’t let meningitis stop her and she secured a gold medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympics in the S3 50m backstroke final.
