‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ Sets Disney+ Streaming Date
"Mufasa: The Lion King," the prequel to the billion-dollar grossing 2019 "The Lion King," gets a Disney+ streaming date.
The voice cast for “Mufasa” includes Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Tiffany Boone, Kagiso Lediga, Preston Nyman, Blue Ivy Carter, Mads Mikkelsen, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Donald Glover and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, among others. In his mostly positive review for Variety, chief film critic Peter Debruge detailed how the “impressive, emotionally satisfying contribution to the Disney canon serves as a prequel to one of the studios’s most beloved franchises.” “Mufasa: The Lion King” is the latest addition to the Disney live-action canon pulling from animated stories, with other recent films including “The Little Mermaid,” “Peter Pan & Wendy” and “Aladdin.”
