‘MoviePass, MovieCrash’ Trailer Reveals Outrageous Story Behind the Company’s Dramatic Implosion (EXCLUSIVE)
HBO's 'MoviePass, MovieCrash' documentary about the meteoric rise and devastating implosion of the film subscription service has unveiled its trailer.
“MoviePass, MovieCrash” chronicles the company’s beginnings as an innovative movie ticketing model beloved by cinemagoers, exploring the visionary mission of its entrepreneur co-founders, its early successes and its downfall caused by mismanagement and corporate greed. Another former executive, Khalid Itum, was found guilty in February 2024 of embezzling at least $260,000 from the subscription service and its parent company, Helios & Matheson Analytics, to repay debts incurred by producing a marketing event at the Coachella music festival in 2018. It is produced by Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, Archie Gips, Jack Heller, Scott Veltri, Jevon Frank and David Wendell.
