‘Missing Presumed Dead’ Lands At Nat Geo As ‘Behind Bars – The World’s Toughest Prisons’ Finds Euro Homes

True crime series 'Missing Presumed Dead' has sold to National Geographic in the U.S. after launching on Hearst in Europe.

These include items on a British family who became lost at sea, kidnap and torture victim Peter Shaw, aid worker Ian Purchase, who was taken by the Taliban, and journalist Michael Scott Moore, who was captured in Somalia. When we first revealed the series in February last year, the deal was noted to include rights for Hearst (then A+E Networks EMEA) nets in Benelux, CEE, Greece and Middle East, and the Sky Crime channel in Italy. “These deals highlight the strong international demand for impactful, character-driven factual storytelling,” said Anouk van Dijk, Head of Sales & Co-Productions at Quintus Studios.
