'Middle-aged men go road-tripping while middle-aged women get the menopause': Viewers SICK of celeb travel shows, as Gary Barlow unveiled as latest ITV host
Take That singer Gary Barlow will join ITV's daytime roster to present Gary Barlow's Wine Tour: South Africa where he will explore the vineyards surrounding Cape Town with his famous friends including Ben Shephard.
But television viewers are growing increasingly nauseous at the never-ending number of self-indulgent travel shows starring middle-aged male celebrities. This year Strictly Come Dancing stars Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice have explored Spain on BBC One, Line of Duty actor Martin Compston gave viewers a tour of the Norwegian Fjords on BBC Two, This Morning host Dermot O’Leary was packed off by ITV to explore his heritage in Dermot O’Leary’s Taste of Ireland. One social media user wrote: ‘Do they make an over-abundance of celebrity travelogues in other countries, or are they simply stuck with boring old sitcoms and sketch shows?’
