‘Masters of the Universe’s Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson Teases “Really Fun Script” As Filming Begins

The Masters of the Universe are preparing to master the big screen in 2026 as production has recently got underway on the live-action film.

After Deadline reported his casting in the role of Malcolm/Fisto, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson gave us an update on the production while walking the red carpet at last week’s world premiere of Captain America: Brave New World, in which he makes his MCU debut as Copperhead. The duo joins Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man and Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops in the screenplay by Chris Buttler with first draft by David Callaham, and Aaron and Adam Nee. In the 1980s toy line and early 1980s cartoon series, Castle Grayskull is the target of numerous attacks by Skeletor, Hordak and the Snake Men, all of whom believe the secrets inside will allow them to conquer Eternia and the entire universe, thus becoming the Masters of the Universe.
