‘Lion King’ Prequel ‘Mufasa’ Debuts Majestic CinemaCon Trailer Filled With Stampeding Animals and Dazzling Sahara Setting
Disney brought an extended look at "Mufasa: The Lion King" to CinemaCon.
The studio unveiled stirring all-new footage of “ Mufasa: The Lion King ” at CinemaCon, the annual movie theater trade show that’s currently taking place at Caesars Palace. Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen’s Timon and Pumbaa (whose scene-stealing antics were a highlight of the remake) will narrate the prequel — although they weren’t featured in Thursday’s clip. It will help if the prequel can deliver on tunes as catchy as “Hakuna Matata” and “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King.” Director Barry Jenkins traveled to Las Vegas to introduce the trailer and teased that “Mufasa” will feature all new music.
