‘Line of Duty’ Star Martin Compston Says BBC Hit Police Corruption Drama Would Return “For The Right Reasons”

Vicky McClure, Adrian Dunbar and Martin Compston star in 'Line of Duty'BBC Line of Duty star Martin Compston has broken his silence on the return of the hit police drama, saying it will be only “for the right reasons.” The BBC show, penned by Jed Mercurio and starring Vicky McClure, Adrian Dunbar alongside Compston, ran through six seasons from 2012 to 2021 and became one of the BBC’s biggest ever shows, with 13million tuning in for the finale – and the reveal of master villain “H” – four years ago. The Sun previously reported that the cast and writer Jed Mercurio have cleared space in their calendars for 2026 to commit to making the show, but no announcement has yet been forthcoming.
